26 Oct 08 Three Buddhist monks sit and talk on steps of shops outlying the Bouddhanath Stupa. They happily allowed me to photograph them. The oldest monk loved the photos and playfully put my camera inside his vest, not wanting to give it back to me.
27 Oct 08 On a walk in Kathmandu we found these tattered rickshaws and drivers waiting for customers at Thahiti Square.
27 Oct 08 Cows are sacred to the Hindus. Cows with more than four legs are especially sacred! We found this little cart pulled by a motorcycle making the circuit in Kathmandu. The Nepalese put money in the tray and then could apply some marigold-colored powder on the cow, thus receiving a Hindu blessing.
