24 Mar 10 Gull in the cabin yard.
Gull flying around the cabin yard.
24 Mar 10 These fantastic flyers can come to a near-stall in the air, and turn and recover in an instant.
24 Mar 10 Sorry about all these gull photos. I just can’t get over my love of photographing them.

25 Mar 10 In high winds coming out of the south the gulls whip up into a frenzy cruising around the cabin where the winds come up the bluff and blast the cabin.

27 Mar 10 Hi there!
27 Mar 10 Last adjustments to avoid hitting gulls already on the ground.
27 Mar 10 The gulls become very active in high winds and as they choose their nesting spots on the Island. The Island volunteer cabin is in the background. In just four days we’ll say goodbye to the Island Wonderland and to our home for the last 12 months.
31 Mar 10 We didn’t see this little guy for a few months during the winter.
31 Mar 10 Frantic gulls fight for their summer nesting spots and lookouts.
31 Mar 10 TODAY IS OUR LAST FULL DAY ON THE ISLAND -- WE LEAVE TOMORROW, THE 1ST OF APRIL :(
02 Apr 10 We’ve left the Island and are on our way down to our just-bought home in Nevada.
04 Apr 10 We hit lots of snow south of Sequim and on I-5 (this photo).
10 Apr 10 We just got our mail box and post put up.
22 Apr 10 Goofing off at Costco.
01 May 10 Lori shoots four shots with the 9mm--all in the bullseye.
18 May 10 Here’s our home looking south across an alfalfa field to the north.
03 May 10 One of the reasons we chose to live in Nevada was the relative low cost of property and homes. We chose a home with a property layout and size to fit a large garage and workshop we planned to build. In this photo, Leeland of “Awesome Construction” has started our pad for the building. Leeland came with very good recommendations and did a great job at a very good price.
17 Jun 10 Lori shoots the Colt M4A1.
18 May 10 In this photo Leeland has finished the pad, and Greg and Lonny from “Kenneth R Nelson Construction” are preparing the pad for foundation- and floor-concrete pours. Kenny is straight-up, honest and very fair. He did a super job pouring the concrete and erecting the steel building we bought from “Heritage Steel Buildings” in Arkansas.
19 May 10 Kenny has started the foundation and floor concrete pours. The 19th and 20th of May were used just to pour and finish the 44’ x 70’ concrete. The pours started long before dawn.
19 May 10 Here’s later in the morning on the first day of pouring and finishing concrete.
